Convenantal Families That are About Their Father's Business,
Part I of III
Let us face the antithesis honestly by asking ourselves if we are devoted to our children’s business and their child-centered activities, or are they devoted to our business and our family-centered activities? Most Christians desire industrious producers but inadvertently train them to be pleasure-seeking consumers. Explore the biblical foundation of being about our father’s business, which formed the basis of American families until the Industrial Revolution, when individuals left home to invest in other men’s endeavors. Learn how to impart direction and purpose as you train your children to be disciplined and motivated workers who joyfully embrace their family’s labor. Be encouraged to walk together, not apart; work alongside each other, not alone; enjoy each other’s company instead of that of strangers while also efficiently equipping your children for their future roles as spouses and parents. Redeem the precious gift of time by investing in your own family as you balance work, service, and pleasurable family activities. Drawing from their own experience, Jon and Candy will explore the peculiar challenges and joys of business as they share the practical aspects of managing time, division of labor, diversification of skills, creating an identity, setting a standard of excellence, advertisement, location, record keeping, insurance, taxes, employees, investment, evangelizing, and reaping what you sow.
